Good As Gold

I haven't been around much because of a career change that I have been transitioning too. Now that I'm starting to settle into my new position, hopefully I will have more time to post more often.

Since I'm feeling Golden today, it will be today's nail theme for the blog.

The first polishes come from Avon. Although Avon polishes are relatively inexpensive compared to all of the big name polishes, I find them easy to apply and quick to dry. This was true for the polishes  in the Brushed Metals collection. I also really liked their finished look. The ring finger is  Brushed Gold and the other fingers are painted in Burnished Copper.:

My second golden look:

This next one is a picture with gold nails mixed in with with a deep, espresso brown nails and it comes from JULEP.

This brown is so dark that in certain light, it seems almost black. However, I love this dark chocolate color especially for the quickly approaching  fall and winter. It also compliments the rose gold color very well. I'm in love with all of these colors, both individually and together.
The brown is Julep's Fiore.
The rose gold color is from Julep's Champagne Trio and it is called Reiko.
The glitter on the pointer finger is also from Julep's Champagne Trio and it is called Clio.

Are any of you having "golden moments" lately as well? Post your own golden nails and/or outfits under the comments.

Spring Mani

This year, Spring seemed to take forever to arrive. Last week, I was so excited about the warmer weather.  I walked around looking at all of the blooming flowers.

I took this picture while hanging out with my boyfriend:

Today, I walked into Walgreens and was looking at Essie's new Neon Collection  and found their bubblegum pink color called "Boom Boom Room"

It reminded me of the colors of the flowers blooming, so I decided to do a Spring Look Inspired by my picture.

I matched the pink with a rose gold metallic from Julep called "Zelda"

I love how these colors go together.

What do you guys think about these colors? Have you guys been inspired by your surroundings lately?

Spring is Blooming

The weather seems to finally have received the memo that spring has arrived. It's starting to warm up and I couldn't be happier. I have way too many cute, colorful shoes to use and the long winter has kept them in my closet for way too long.

One of the shoes that I was able to show off was my Justfab Belfast. They are the perfect, colorful wedge.

This is my take on an outfit that is a great transition from winter to spring.

Lace White Shirt from Mark.
Blue Ombre Pants from JustFab
Necklace & Change It Up Bag by Mark.

On my nails, I have Julep's Mackenzie, which is a beautiful, bright green. It went on smoothly and easily.

Easter Festivities WIth Style

Since I was a child, Easter and Spring go hand in hand. It's the day that you throw your wintery dark, black clothes to the back of your closet, and you bring out your flirty, colorful pieces.

This Easter, I was able to share it with my parents and cousins. We had a huge feast including paella, roast beef, lasagna, etc. While we enjoyed our lunch, the little ones were eagerly antacipating the Easter Egg Hunt, which turned out to be a huge success.

All in all, it was a great day with the family.

My Easter outfit included a beautiful green dress that my boyfriend bought me from Francesca's.

I paired it with Mark.'s White On Time Blazer and Mark.'s Studs and Style Stretch Belt

My sparkly gold ankle boots are from ShoeDazzle

All of my accessories, including necklace, ring, bracelet and watch are from Mark.

I also had to paint my nails to go with the Spring Theme:

From Thumb to pinkie: Julep Joy, Julep Leila, Julep Minnie, Julep Courtney, and Essie Mint Candy Apple

Happy Easter and I hope you guys had a great day as well!

Clean, Sweet and Oh So Fabulous!

I love, Love, LOVE, beauty products. Because of this, I'm always trying a variety of products from different brands.

At the moment, these are my recent top 3 products for this week.

FACE

My favorite beauty product at the moment for giving me a squeaky clean face is Mask of Magnaminty from Lush. I have used it about twice a week  for the past couple of months and I really do feel like it's cleaning deep into my pores. My boyfriend the other day commented on how my face looks "less bumpier" (his words) and nicer. I believe it's a combination of using this mask and my Clarisonic Mia daily.

BODY

I have super dry skin, so I have an array of lotions, body butters. etc. Lately, I have been using Mark's Body Butters every night. My two favorite scents are Lemon Sugar and Plum Berry. I alternate between the two of them. Although the scents are on the stronger side, they are not overpowering. I love both  of them. The scents are both sweet and feminie.

HANDS

I received Julep's Rock Star Cream in my March box recently. Yesterday, I put it on like 3 times. Remember when I said that my skin is dry. Well if someone took a look at my hands, they would have thought they are looking at the hands of someone who is 50 years older than me. However, this cream makes my hands soft and they feel hydrated for a long period of time. I'm officially in love with this product.

Have you tried any of these three products? What are your thoughts on them?

Spring Pastels: March Julep Box

My nails favorite time of the month is finally here. My Julep March box arrived yesterday. This month it's all about pastels. These colors scream "SPRING" , which makes me very excited because I'm so tired of the cold and snow. This month I chose Boho Glam, which included Leila, a yellow shimmer, and Joy, a smoky purple creme. It also included a hand cream, which I can't wait to try, and a strawberry chap stick that I'm starting to get addicted to already.

LEILA

JOY

I also received my add-on, which was Minnie.

MINNIE

My favorite this month is a toss up between Minnie and Leila. I always love a pretty pink, but Leila reminds me of the sunshine and warmth that I'm so craving.

Do you guys have a favorite Julep color this month?

Strike A Pose: Past Oscar Fashion

This Sunday, the Superbowl of the film world will be on tv. Since I was a little girl, the Oscars have been my favorite award show. It was and still is the award show that has the most glamour, glitz and bling bling.

Ever since I can remember,  I  have always been glued to the tv, especially as my faves, Nicole Kidman, Kate Winslet and Renee Zelwegger, graced the red carpet with their beauty, gorgeous gowns and dazzling jewelry.

I can't wait to see the fashion that comes out from this year's award show, but until then, I have my five favorite dresses from the past three years.

When you think of Halle Berry at the Oscars, the first thing that probably pops to your mind is her Elie Saab Couture gown from 2002. However, she never dissapoints and always brings beautiful fashion to the award shows. In 2011, Halle stepped out again and this time it was in this gorgeous Marchesa gown. The corset shows off her beautiful curves and the train makes the entire look softer.

2011 was also the year that Jennifer Hudson showed off her weight loss with Atelier Versace dress. The color looked so fabulous on her.

My next 3 are all from 2010. It was a great year for Oscar Fashion.

The first beautiful dress of 2010 was Rachel McAdams in an Elie Saab Haute Couture gown. It was as if she was wearing a lovely painting. She was gliding on colors and it was perfect.

2010 was also the year that Sandra Bullock won the Best Actress Oscar for "The Blind Side" and she did it in this silver Marchesa gown. This dress, from top to bottom, was also a winner that night.

In 2010, Cameron Diaz blew us away with a stunning Oscar de le Renta gown. The gown had such gorgeous beading that it brought all of the bling, bling that she needed, so she was smart to keep her jewelry minimal.

What is your favorite Oscar gown of the past couple of years?

Hearts, Chocolates & Fashion

Valentine's Day is quickly approaching. Whether you have a significant other or not, you can look great with fun and flirty pieces that are appropriate for this day of love and chocolates (Lots and Lots of Chocolates).

Accessories

Shoedazzle has some really adorable Love watches. Wear your heart on your sleeve indeed:

This watch comes in Red, Beige, Black and Mint Color on their website.

If you are not one to be held back by time, then they also have a really adorable Love bracelet in both gold and silver

Either of these would be a great accessory for Valentine's Day.

SHOES

If you are looking for the perfect romantic shoe that can be both formal and fun, JustFab has a great red peep toe with a cute bow on the side that screams Valentine's Day. It's called Venice and it can be found on the Just Fab website.

BAG

If you like your Valentine's Day to be a bit more edgy instead of super cutesy, then the Lionel Mazzie bag is the perfect pink bag for you for Valentine's Day. It can be used during the day as a cross body as you hang out with your friends and then it can be used as a clutch at night for your dinner date with your significant other. I'm currently obsessed with this bag because although it's very feminine, the studs make the bag interesting and cool. This bag can be found at the Lionel Handbag website.

If you are looking for something a bit more posh and classic, but keeping the studs that make the other bag edgy and current, Michael Kors has a beautiful red studded quilted clutch bag. This one would be perfect for a romantic dinner at a top notch restaurant in the city. It's gorgeous and will upgrade any outfit from just "nice" to "FABULOUS". This clutch can be found on the Michael Kors website.

Do you guys have any plans for Valentine's Day? Hanging out with friends or going on a romantic getaway? Do you already have the perfect outfit picked out?

Glowing from the Inside Out

This month MARK. has some amazing fashion and makeup items that had me swooning.

The one item that I've been using everyday is the Connect the Dots Scarf.

It's more of a nude brown color then blush pink, like the site states. However, it is super cute and warm.

My T-Rex loving self even took it to NY Museum of Natural History.

Even my beautiful Mia loves it.

The other product I love is the new Touch and Glow Warm.

I'm a big fan of the original touch and glow, so I was excited when this one came out. I swipe my brush all over this palette and put it on my face for a warm glow. I also use indivdual cubes as eye shadows, especially the lighter ones to highlight the inner corners of my eyes.

If you guys are looking for some cute jewelry, the Things Look Rosy Ring and Good Vintage Earrings are perfect. They are even more beautiful in person.

Last but not least, there is the Hot to Handle Bag. It's not too big, yet it's big enough to carry everything you need and then some.

The Hot to Handle Bag right now is $25 when you spend $20 on select products at my E-boutique

Another Awesome deal is the Shine On Set, which includes Things Look Rosy Ring, Glimmer Shine lip gloss in pink glimmer and Touch and Glow Warm. This entire set is only $30 ($46 Value)

January Julep: Neons & Nudes

This month's Julep box's theme was  Neons and Nudes. I wasn't too sure if I was going to skip this month or not because I'm not a fan of nudes and I already own a few neons. In the end, my love for bright colors took over and I ordered the American Beauty box with a Madison add on.

The American Beauty box came with Bethany, which is a bright orange- red creme.

This was my favorite color that I received this month from Julep. It went on smoothly, easily and it is so gorgeous.  I need to try it with a white base underneath in order to make it more neon.

The second color I received was Mindy, which is a super light pink color.

Although I usually don't like nudes, I really liked this color. I'm thinking of ways how I can incorporate this polish with bright colors, such as a bright tip. This is a color that I probably would never choose for myself, but I definietly I'm happy that I received it with my January box.

My add on was Madison, which is a hot pink. In certain lightening, it looks a bit orange, but it's definiely for fans of super bright pink polishes.

I can see myself wearing this a lot during the hot summer months.

What do you guys think about the new colors? Are you enjoying swatching all of the new neons and nudes?

Remember, if you want to begin the Julep Maven subscription box, you can do an introductory box for a penny. If you want to do this, just go to the website (Julep Link ), take the quiz and put in the code COLORS4ONE during checkout. This is good for only the first month though. However, you can always cancel after that.
